Shannon James Joins Carscallen LLP as Senior Associate

Carscallen LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Shannon James to the firm. Shannon will be practicing in the Wills, Trusts, Estates and Estate Litigation and Tax Law Groups. Shannon was called to the Alberta bar in 2013, and previously worked as a senior associate at a large, national law firm in Canada. 

Shannon has a broad estate, trust, and tax law practice, and has represented and advocated for clients on such matters as estate administration and litigation, guardianship and trusteeship, trust variation and advisory matters, family maintenance, and personal and corporate tax objections and appeals. Shannon has appeared before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Tax Court of Canada and the Cour du Québec.

Shannon is an active member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association, the Association de juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta (French Legal Professionals Association of Alberta), and the Calgary Bar Association.

With the addition of Shannon to the firm, Carscallen LLP adds to its depth of experience in the Tax Law and Wills, Trusts, Estates and Estate Litigation Groups. Carscallen LLP is able to offer its clients full‐service Canadian tax and wills and estates advice.
